​In order to avoid the lie and spin machine that is known as Shaun King, let’s start out with some quick facts to show you exactly who/what Shaun King is.

Shaun King did not start, organize, or lead The Movement. Shaun King did not start, organize, or lead Ferguson’s Movement. When The Movement and later Ferguson’s Movement started, he was a semi-retired church pastor. Shaun King didn’t begin writing for the Daily Kos until September 30th of 2014. A full month after the Ferguson uprising again and 5 months after The Movement launched on April 20th, 2014. Both were already in full stride and organized. Shaun King grifted out of nowhere.

​Shaun King likes to conveniently leave out that he started none of these Movements, was never a part of The Movement or Ferguson’s Movement, but has spoken as an expert and spokesperson for both Movements despite not being involved. Similar to Deray McKesson he has attempted to coopt grassroots movements and then pass them off as his own using the same structures that created the problems the movements sought to address. To be clear, he is discrediting the actual founders and organizations that started The Movement and Ferguson’s Movement and is passing himself off as a leader/member/spokesperson. 

Shaun King, along with Deray McKesson, Johnetta Elzie, Brittany Packnett and Black Lives Matter were pushing lies and false narratives to suppress, sabotage, and discredit the actual grassroot movements. Point blank. It’s why he won’t mention any actual founders, media companies that started Movements, or leadership who were actually executing the plans of said Movements. His agenda is to push his agenda, at the expense of everyone else. Period. There is no other explanation when you have not consulted with people you claim to represent, but use their name, energy, credibility, etc. as your own.

There are no other words needed to describe Shaun King’s actions or purpose thus far. First, he needs to account for those allegations. He needs to highlight who started what Movements and stop with the lies and deflections. His plans failed with no internal interference. Meanwhile he’s actively sabotaged and discredited successful plans in favor of his own failed tactics. 

Shaun’s recent antics when once again faced with questions regarding his credibility are merely deflections from the well-known fact that Shaun King is a complete and utter fraud in the activist community who has targeted and discredited leadership on behalf of the state and corporations, for years.
