We’re seeing the headlines jumping currently over the latest ‘Pod Save the People’ podcast by Deray McKesson featuring Katy Perry. Let’s just say that the interview probably wasn’t received how they expected. The internet gave them quite the surprise over the weekend. We’ll share some responses below…

Before that, let us fill you in on why ‘those in the know’, are upset with Deray McKesson.

  1. He didn’t start the protests in Ferguson, lead or represent their movement
  2. He didn’t start ‘The Movement,’ which was united with Ferguson and 100% grassroots
  3. He represented both, as well as BLM for credibility, then ran when questioned about funding

Now, let’s check out some responses below…

I'm sorry but I can't stand Deray. Are you an activist, politician, celebrity, or human billboard? I'm confused. https://t.co/uP3WAC35qC

Who made Deray the gatekeeper of the black community?

— Hawaii ???? (@madeinHAWAII_) June 11, 2017

Deray talking to Katy Perry about cultural appropriation in a 72 hours YT branded livestream. Jesus didn't die for this.

Now I understand why the late Darren Seals #RIP slapped the shit out of Deray and called him an "actorvist."

Of course Deray jumped at the opportunity to interview Katy Perry. He's such an opportunist.

For Deray McKesson, there’s been many of these moments. Throughout his stay in Ferguson, until eventually being ran out of town according (link) to sources. His days with Justice Together, Shaun King’s organization, ended with him publicly calling out Shaun King before committing the exact same offense a year later. His run with Black Lives Matter ended when an activist simply asked him, “What does Black Lives Matter do with the donation money?”

Deray McKesson didn’t start ‘The Movement.’ The hashtags, the protests, the CULTURE, the strategy, the goals… He might have sold his alleged friend Katy Perry a story, but the activist community has witnessed and documented many of his wild antics. The antics that ultimately led to the collapse of the police corruption movement as well as the hindrance of The Movement and erasure of Ferguson’s movement. Deray was taking credit for representing both.

Deray McKesson did not start The Movement. He did not start the protests in Ferguson or lead things in Ferguson. McKesson did not start Black Lives Matter. Deray never started a Movement.

Deray McKesson got his rise to fame by going on national television and misrepresenting himself as leading ‘the movement’ and things on the ground in Ferguson. That can’t be farther from the truth. We started ‘The Movement’ and Ferguson ran him out of town while we were working together. Ferguson started the ‘Movement for Black Lives’ and Taking Back the Radio started the movement for ‘All Lives.’ The Millennial Revolution. Deray McKesson is a COINTEL OP. A COINTEL agent for the DNC, Twitter, and other special interests. His literal ‘WikiLeak’ describes him as a person providing “updates” for the DNC.

The result was instead of leaders from Ferguson being placed on national television, where they’ll have the highest brand visibility and largest platform, Black Lives Matter’s leaders were given the air time and were sold as representing Ferguson. After starting, leading, and sustaining the protests, Black Lives Matter, a non-profit not based out of St. Louis, was given the microphone, platform, and resources.

The major issue with Deray McKesson claiming that he represents ‘The Movement’ is simply that he does not. Our company, Taking Back the Radio, organized and mobilized ‘The Movement’ and branded the mobilizing slogan prior to Ferguson. We covered the Ferguson protests and worked with their leadership. Instead of being given our platform to speak on behalf of the movement we helped start, Deray McKesson took it upon himself to speak on behalf of our company, the official media outlet of ‘The Movement.’ Deray does not know the plans of ‘The Movement’ and never was in correspondence with our company or leaders from The Movement. He was clearly a Black Lives Matter activist which was the dividing line between the paid protesters, and the grassroots movement that was spreading across the country. McKesson is a DNC surrogate which would make for a hell of an explanation as to why he is speaking on behalf of both the Democrats, and ‘The Movement.’ We won’t detail his other conflicts in this article.

McKesson’s use was simply to sabotage. In various ways. He created nothing and slandered everything. From our initial media platform that provided the initial media coverage and traffic, to Ferguson’s leaders and Movements that were legit grassroots movements, to leaders he worked with and even victims who spoke out against him. By positioning a fraudulent PR/Spokesperson as the head of ‘the movement’ interested media and interests could control every narrative the public saw regarding ‘the movement’ on a large scale.  If special interests wanted it to seem like ‘The Movement’ was supporting Hillary Clinton, they could use Deray as a fraudulent representation. He was viewed by the public as a “revolutionary” and someone who represented the political discontent sweeping across the country.

Just like they could choose who from Black Lives Matter to put on TV to represent the entire police corruption or black liberation movements, they had their spokesperson for an organic budding movement that was just taking root. It sounds like something out of a fiction movie until you start to research what was done to silence those who started to break apart the Black Lives Matter scandal.

Cultural appropriation, if committed, is bad. Misrepresenting yourself as leading one of the largest youth movements in the country is worse. McKesson is not a victim of police corruption, was an establishment Democrat when he claimed to represent The Movement, and never worked with the Brown family, Ferguson’s leadership, or anyone from the grassroots coalitions that were taking place across the country. Deray McKesson is a modern day COINTEL agent of the political and business sector. He knew that he was not authorized to represent these Movements that he did not start, and continued to try to represent them anyway. Cultural appropriation is bad, but intentional misrepresentation on such a massive and elaborate scale… well, that takes the cake.
